Work Orders 

The Work Order module complements the Service Order module by extending its functionality to a more comprehensive level. Significant distinctions between work orders and service orders in TM2 include:

• Multiple shops can be managed easily with work orders; service orders typically involve only a single shop
• More control over the approval and coordination process is available in work orders.
• Work orders can be split into multiple Cost Account Codes.
• Work orders can be divided into multiple tasks, which can each be assigned to a different shop.
• Labor reporting and inventory accounting is possible at the task level in work orders.
• Any work requiring that materials be ordered specifically for that job are more easily managed with work orders; Service orders typically use on-hand inventory.
